But what about insurance cancellation and refund?
As a matter of fact, the insurance policy’s cancellation and refund vary with each plan. Whether you will be eligible for a full refund, or a partial refund can be determined by the international student insurance policy you purchase and the cancelation terms of the policy..
What are the popular plans and their cancellation policies?
Before the effective date of the policy– Full cancellation and refund will only be considered if the written request is received before the effective date of the coverage.
After the effective date of the policy- If the written request is received after the Effective Date of coverage, the following conditions apply if the Insured Person wishes to cancel the insurance and a written partial refund request has been made:
a) If any claims have been filed with the Company, the Premium is fully earned and is non-refundable.
b) If no claims have been filed with the Company, then
(i) a cancellation fee of US $50 will be charged; and
(ii) only full month premiums will be considered as refundable
The plan’s cancellation and refund policy is similar to Liaison Student. Call the insurance company to know if there are any new changes.
To be eligible for a full refund, the cancellation request must be received before the effective date. Cancellation requests received after the effective date will be subject to the following conditions:
• A $25 cancellation fee will apply
• Only premium for unused whole months of the plan will be refunded
• Only members who have no claims are eligible for a premium refund
• When payment is made in full at the time of purchase, no refunds are granted after 60 days
The plan has no refund policy.
The plan’s cancellation and refund policy is similar to the Student Secure plan.
The policyholders may get a full refund with a written notice before the start date. If after the effective date, unused full month premiums can be refunded with a $50 fee if no claims have been submitted.
Less a $25 processing fee, will be considered only when a written request is received before the Effective Date of Individual coverage. After the Effective Date of Individual coverage, a premium is considered fully earned and non-refundable. Partial refunds are not available.
