Plan Benefits: Coverage for in-patient and out-patient medical accidents & illness up to $8 million based on the plan you choose. Benefits include coverage for ER visits, Mental/Nervous coverage, Maternity, Physical Therapy, Prescription Drugs, Preventative Care Evacuation, Repatriation of Remains, and more.  Choice of deductibles from $250 to $10,000

Pre-existing: The Silver and Gold plans cover up to $50,000 lifetime maximum; $5,000 per period of coverage for unknown conditions after 24 months of continuous coverage. There is no pre-existing condition coverage on the Bronze plan. On the Platinum plan, pre-existing conditions are covered for visitors if disclosed on the application and not excluded by riders

PPO Hospital Network: In the US, if you choose to use a Provider (doctor or hospital) within the plan’s PPO- United Health , the deductible will be reduced by 50% and the co-insurance will be waived. Outside the US, you are free to go to any provider, however, you can also access the database of International Providers

What is The Price or Cost of Global Medical Insurance®?

The pricing is dependent on the following factors: The Global Medical plan is an annual plan. The premium payment mode selected, your age along with the plan option, and the deductible amount selected will determine your premium or cost that you will pay.

Plan Limit: You can select from 4 plan options. The Bronze plan offers coverage of $1,000,000 while the Silver and Gold offers $5,000,000. The most comprehensive is the Platinum Plan with $8,000,000. You have a choice of the deductible from $100 to $25,000 based on the plan you select.

Age: Persons from ages of 14 days to 74 years may apply for coverage. Persons 75 years of age and older are not eligible for coverage.

Payment Mode: Global Medical Insurance is an annual plan with payment modes of Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, and Annually. The annual mode is the most cost-effective.

Optional Coverage Benefits Riders: Optional riders include Global Term Life Insurance, AD&D, Terrorism, Sports, Dental & Vision.

FAQ: How does Global Medical Insurance® Plan work?

Global Medical Insurance is available to individuals and families of all nationalities. U.S. Citizens must reside abroad or plan to leave the U.S. on their effective date and plan to reside abroad for at least six of the next 12 months. Non-U.S. citizens may reside anywhere, including their country of citizenship, although certain eligibility restrictions may apply to non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States. Persons between the ages of 14 days and 74 years old may apply for coverage. Persons older than 74 years of age are not eligible for fresh coverage (unless they have been continuously covered under the plan till age 74).

To apply for the Global Medical Insurance, simply complete and return the application.  If you are applying as a family, you may include yourself, your spouse, and dependents on one application. If you have dependents who are 19 and older, you must complete a separate application for those individuals. You must accurately complete all questions outlined in the application in order to be considered for coverage.

If approved you will receive a fulfillment kit which includes an identification card, declaration of insurance, and Certificate Wording containing a complete description of benefits, exclusions, and terms of the plan. If your application is not approved, you will receive a full refund of the premium you have paid.

If the Underwriters need additional information to evaluate your application. an email will be sent to you requesting more details.

The Silver and Gold plans cover up to $50,000 lifetime maximum; $5,000 per period of coverage for unknown conditions after 24 months of continuous coverage. An optional rider can be purchased with Gold and Platinum options to cover amateur sports and adventure sports.

Amateur Athletic are covered up to  $ 10,000-lifetime maximum

Coverage for Adventure Sports:
Through age 49 years: $50,000 lifetime maximum
Age 50 years through age 59 years: $ 30,000-lifetime maximum
Age 60 years through age 64 years: $15,000 lifetime maximum

The application will need the name, date of birth, your home country address, and email address to send the insurance documents.

As the application goes through Underwriting, details on all the medical history will have to be correctly answered. A list of prescription drugs if any will have to be submitted.

A valid credit card will be required to complete the purchase.

If approved you will receive a fulfillment kit which includes an identification card, declaration of insurance, and Certificate Wording containing a complete description of benefits, exclusions, and terms of the plan.

Prior to the end of each period of coverage (12 months), you will receive an email stating that the plan will be renewed unless you confirm otherwise. You must continue to meet the eligibility requirements for renewing coverage.

Once you are accepted into the plan, you have a 15-day free look period to review the coverage. If during that 15-day period you find that you are not satisfied with the plan for any reason, you may submit a written request for cancellation and full refund of your premium

It is a good practice to keep a copy of the entire claims documents with you before you submit a claim for processing

  1. Download and complete the Claims Form
  2. Attach copies of all the pages of the passport
  3. Attach any itemized bills or receipts if money was paid out of pocket for services
  4. Submit the above within the stipulated time of 90 days after seeing the provider
  5. Follow up on your claim by calling 800.628.4664 or emailing insurance@imglobal.com
