Pre-existing: For ages under 80 years, Atlas Group® covers acute onset of a non-chronic and non-congenital pre-existing condition up to the policy maximum. This also includes up to a $25,000 lifetime maximum for emergency medical evacuation.

What is the Price or Cost of Atlas Group Insurance?

The pricing is dependent on the following factors: The higher the plan limit, age, number of members in the group or coverage days, the higher will be the premium. If you add any optional coverage the premium will increase. Your premium reduces if you opt for a higher deductible.  

Plan Limit: You can choose from various options for the overall maximum limits. For ages 80 or older the limit is $10,000; while for ages 65 to 79  you can choose from $50,000 or $100,000. For ages under 65years  you can choose from $50,000, $100,000, $250,000, $500,000, $1,000,000, or $2,000,000.

Deductible Amount: You can choose deductible from $0, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 per certificate period.

Age: Plan is available for ages 14 days to above 80 years. 

Coverage Days: Atlas Group® Travel Insurance coverage can be purchased for 5 days or up to 364 days

Optional Coverage Benefits Riders: The following riders can be added at an additional premium.

Optional Accidental Death & Dismemberment Rider (only available to members age 18 through age 69): Lifetime Maximum – $25,000

FAQ: How does Atlas Group® Plan work?

Atlas Group Travel insurance is one of the popular insurance plans available for US and non-US citizens traveling overseas. Both US citizens and foreign citizens on tour, missionary groups can obtain affordable group travel medical insurance coverage.

Travelers in groups of five or more can apply for the

Atlas Group®

Insurance. The age can range from 14 days old to 80 and above. The same deductible should be purchased for everybody in the group. The same overall policy maximum limit should be purchase for everybody under 70 years.

Coverage becomes effective on the latest of:

  • Receipt of Application and the subsequent receipt of the correct premium
  • The departure of the member from the Home Country
  • The date requested on the Application.

Coverage will end on the earliest of:

  • the end of the stipulated period for which premium was paid by the insured person,
  • the date requested on the application, or
  • on the arrival upon return of the insured person to the Home Country

No, pre-existing conditions are not covered under the policy. However, the Atlas Group policy provides benefits for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition.

For Ages 70 to 79 years, the plan provides benefits for an acute onset of a preexisting condition up to the overall maximum limit or $100,000, whichever is lower, and for members under age 70 years it provides up to the overall maximum limit.

A sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition, which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning, either in the form of Physician recommendation or symptoms which would have caused a prudent person to seek medical attention prior to the outbreak or recurrence. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence.

Atlas Group can offer medical expense coverage in the home country in the following situations:

Benefit Period

Atlas Travel can cover eligible medical expenses in the member’s home country for 90 days after the beginning of treatment so long as the related illness or injury began while the certificate was still in effect and treatment began while the member was outside their home country. 

Incidental Home Country Coverage

For individuals with a home country other than the U.S., for every three-month period during which the member is covered by the policy, medical expenses incurred in the member’s home country are covered up to a maximum of 30 days.

Outside the US the plan does not follow a network and the traveler can go to any hospital or doctor.

Inside the US:  If you are a Non-US or Non-EU citizen/resident traveling in the US  you will use – United HealthCare PPO Network.

If you are an EU citizen traveling in the US you will use – First Health Network

 

Atlas Group includes coverage for eligible injuries and illnesses that could occur while participating in many popular vacation sports – skiing and snowboarding (recreational downhill and/or cross country), snorkeling, water skiing, and others – at no additional cost. Certain extreme sports are excluded from coverage. You can review the complete list in the Sample Certificate.

The application will need the name, date of birth, visitor’s address, passport country, and email address to send the insurance documents.  If you do have the passport number, you can enter it. A valid credit card will be required to complete the purchase.

Once the application is submitted, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the application which will include links to download the ID card, Visa Letter, and Certificate wording.

The plan cannot be renewed.

Before the effective date of the policy:  Full cancellation and refund will only be considered if the written request is received prior to the Effective Date of the coverage.

After the effective date of the policy:  If the written request is received after the Effective Date of coverage, the following conditions apply if the Insured Person wishes to cancel the insurance and a written partial refund request has been made:

a) If any claims have been filed, the Premium is fully earned and is non-refundable.

b) If no claims have been filed with the Company, then a pro-rated refund is possible with a cancellation fee of US $25.

If you have paid for the bills upfront at the provider’s office or if you have paid for prescription drugs, you can follow the steps below to submit a claim.

It is a good practice to keep a copy of the entire Claims documents with you before you submit the Claims for processing. 

  1. Download and complete the Claims Form/ Claimant Statement  You will have to submit the Claimant statement even if you have not paid upfront to the provider
  2. Attach copies of all the pages of the passport
  3. Attach the itemized bills
  4. Submit the above within the stipulated time of 90 days after seeing the provider
