Safe Travels USA Comprehensive is a comprehensive travel insurance plan designed for visitors coming to the US. It protects travelers temporarily during their visit. Typically, it offers medical coverage for new accidents and illnesses, surgeries, hospital stays, acute onset of pre-existing conditions, emergency dental, medical evacuation, repatriation of remains, trip interruption, baggage, accidental death, and dismemberment. The plan is designed for tourists traveling outside their home country or country of residence to the US and worldwide. This plan is not made for US residents, citizens, and green card holders.  

 

The plan highlights: 

  • The plan offers insurance for medical accidents and sickness up to $1,000,000  
  • COVID-19 is covered and treated as any other sickness  
  • A $125 doctor wellness visit benefits if the policy has been purchased for at least 30 days (about four and a half weeks). 
  • It covers one episode for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition   
  • In the network, deductible and co-insurance waived  
  • Coverage from 5 days to 364 days (about 12 months)

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, the company can provide the coverage you need. The plans are ideal for vacationers, business travelers, students, overseas relatives, and international adventurers. IMG is an excellent choice for short-term medical insurance. To qualify, you must be at least 14 years old and must have legally departed your country of residence and legally entered the country of residence as of the starting date of the plan. The plans can be renewable for up to 24 or 36 continuous months, depending on the plan. 

Safe Travel USA Comprehensive- FAQs

Yes, Safe Travels USA Comprehensive is a comprehensive visitor insurance plan for US visitors that provides insurance for medical accidents, illness, emergency medical treatment, political evacuation, repatriation of remains, trip interruption, baggage, accidental death, and dismemberment. 

Yes, the plan is underwritten by Crum and Forster SPC and is rated A “Excellent” by A.M. best. 

Members can receive a full refund before or on the Effective Date and a pro-rated refund if there are no claims filed after the effective date. There is a $25 cancellation fee. 

When seeing a provider (Doctor, Urgent Care, hospital) please print and bring your ID card along with you to the appointment. The provider’s office will need to see your ID card to reach the Claims Department to submit the Claims. If you are hospitalized, please make sure you call the insurance company on the number on the ID card for eligibility and benefit questions. 

In the event the providers office is out of the network, and/or you must pay upfront please follow the Claims procedure below :

Safe Travel USA Comprehensive does not cover pre-existing conditions, but it covers one episode of an acute onset of pre-existing conditions per the policy terms. Any repeat/recurrence within the same policy period will no longer be considered an acute onset of a pre-existing condition and will not be eligible for additional coverage. 

Patriot America Plus- FAQs

You are eligible for coverage under Patriot America Plus if you are outside your country of residence and at least 14 days (about 2 weeks) old. This includes international students (including those on OPT (Optional Practical Training)), visiting scholars, exchange students, dependents, travelers, chaperons, international business groups, etc. 

To be eligible and qualified for coverage under the Patriot Travel insurance, the following 

requirement must be met.  

  1. complete and sign an application as the Insured person (or be listed thereon as a proxy as an applicant and proposed insured person) and/or as the insured person spouse and or child. 
  2. pay the required premium on or before the effective date of coverage
  3. receive written acceptance of his/her application, renewal, or extension from the company
  4. be an individual at least fourteen days old
  5. on the effective date and on subsequent renewal dates, must have legally departed the country of residence and legally entered destination country
  6. not have established a permanent residency in the destination country

You are eligible for coverage under Patriot America Plus if you plan to travel to the US, outside of your country of residence. The country of residence is the country in which you maintain your current primary residence and pay your taxes. 

The plan does not provide coverage for routine or preventative care, like dental or vision exams. However, it can provide coverage for dental treatment due to a covered accident or unexpected pain up to a $300 limit. It can also offer coverage up to the maximum limit for treatment due to a traumatic dental injury. It also includes coverage for an emergency eye exam up to a $150 maximum limit for loss or damage to prescription corrective lenses due to a covered accident. Read the brochure for more details. 

If you purchase this plan for less than 365 days (about 12 months), you may extend Patriot America Plus up until you have fulfilled the full 365 days (about 12 months) of coverage. From there, you may renew your plan for up to one additional year on the plan. 

You will have three days from the initial effective date of coverage to cancel the plan. This period is called the Review Period, in which you can review the benefits, conditions, limitations, and exclusions. If you are not completely satisfied, you can cancel the plan for a full refund. After the Review Period, the following conditions apply if the Insured Person wishes to cancel this insurance:  

(a) If any claims have been filed with the Company, the Premium is fully earned and is non-refundable.  

(b) If no claims have been filed with the Company:  

(i) a cancellation fee of fifty dollars ($50.00 USD) will be charged  

(ii) only Premium covering time periods after cancellation are refundable.
