Pre-existing: Pre-existing conditions are excluded from coverage. However, acute onset of a pre-existing condition that is not chronic and congenital in nature can be covered up to $20,000 for member below 65 years and up to $2,500 for members ages 65 and above

PPO Hospital Network: If you are GDPR residents you can search for providers in the First Health Network; All others can search for providers in the United Healthcare Network.

What is the Price or Cost of Visit USA Travel Insurance?

The pricing is dependent on the following factors: The higher the plan limit, age, or coverage days, the higher will be the premium. If you add any optional coverage the premium will increase. Your premium reduces if you opt for a higher deductible.  

Plan Limit: With the Visit USA visitors insurance, foreigners traveling to the USA can opt for Budget, Standard, or Superior coverage. The Budget and Standard plan have two options -A and B while Superior has only one option. The options Budget Plan A provides coverage of $50,000 while Plan B provides $150,000, Standard Plan A provides $75,000 while Plan B provides $200,000. The Superior provides coverage of $250,000. Plans limits change per age. Review Brochure for details.  

Deductible Amount: You can choose from $0 $50, $100, $250 per-incident deductible on the Budget plan while the Standard and Superior plans have options of $0, $250 $500, or $1,000 per certificate.


Age: Plan is available for ages 14 days to above 80 years. 


Coverage Days: This plan can be bought for a minimum of 5 days up to a maximum of 364 days.


Optional Coverage Benefits Riders: Optional riders include the following: 

  • Optional Accidental Death & Dismemberment Rider: The plans include up to $50,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage (no benefits on the Budget Plan). For an additional premium, the Standard and Superior plans allow you to add up to $100,000 in additional coverage.
  • Optional Coverage for Sports: The Superior plan offers optional coverage for Intercollegiate sports and Hazardous sports.

FAQ: How does Visit USA Insurance Plan work?

Non-U.S. Citizens who are at least 14 days of age that are traveling outside of their home countries.
Budget Plan: Individuals ages 70 and above must select Plan A. Individuals age 69 and under may select Plan A or Plan B.

Standard Plan: Individuals age 65 to 69 as of the certificate effective date are subject to a $100,000 overall maximum limit or less. Individuals age 70 to 79 as of the certificate effective date are subject to a $75,000 overall maximum limit or less. Individuals age 80 and over as of the certificate effective date are subject to a $20,000 overall maximum limit.

Superior Plan: Individuals ages 65 to 79 as of the certificate effective date are subject to a $100,000 overall maximum limit or less. Individuals age 80 and over as of the certificate effective date are subject to a $20,000 overall maximum limit.

No. However, the plan offers some coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition.

A Pre-Existing Condition is defined by the policy as, “Any (1) condition for which medical advice, diagnosis, care, or treatment (includes receiving services and supplies, consultations, diagnostic tests or prescription medicines) was recommended or received during the 18 months immediately preceding the Certificate Effective Date; (2) condition that had manifested itself in such a manner that would have caused a reasonably prudent person to seek medical advice, diagnosis, care, or treatment (includes receiving services and supplies, consultations, diagnostic tests or prescription medicines) within the 18 months immediately preceding the Certificate Effective Date; (3) injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental, or nervous conditions, disorder or ailment (whether known or unknown) that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or within the 18 months immediately preceding the Certificate Effective Date.”

YOU ARE COVERED:
1. Charges for a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition(s)
which:
a. Occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician
recommendations or symptoms; and
b. Is of short duration; and
c. Is rapidly progressive; and
d. Requires urgent care.
YOU ARE NOT COVERED unless you fulfill the following condition:
1. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence.
YOU ARE NOT COVERED IF:
1. The Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition(s) occurs before the certificate effective date; or
2. The pre-existing condition is
• a chronic or congenital condition; or
• a complication or consequence of a chronic or congenital condition; or
• a condition that gradually becomes worse over time; or
3. The charges are for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or treatments
existent or necessary prior to the certificate effective date; or
4. Expenses arise directly or indirectly from anything in the General Exclusions.

You may go to any licensed health care provider. However, if you use a doctor or hospital in Visit USA-HealthCare’s large preferred provider network, you will pay a lower deductible and co-insurance than if you go outside the network.

Not all options have coverage for sports. The Superior Plan has Optional upgrade for Intercollegiate/Interscholastic Sports Riders and Hazardous Sports Riders

The application will need the name, date of birth, visitor’s address, passport country, and email address to send the insurance documents.  If you do have the passport number, you can enter it. A valid credit card will be required to complete the purchase.

Once the application is submitted, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the application which will include links to download the ID card, Visa Letter, and Certificate wording.

The Visit USA-HealthCare plan cannot be renewed. However, you may purchase another policy if you find you need additional coverage. Simply re-enroll in Visit USA-HealthCare prior to the expiration date of the first policy. The “Requested Effective Date” should be one day after the first policy’s expiration date.

Prior to the effective date: A cancellation and refund will be considered if requested in writing prior to your effective date of coverage. Any refunds are subject to a $25 processing fee.

After the effective date: The Insurance Company considers the premium fully earned and non-refundable.

If you have paid for the bills upfront at the provider’s office or if you have paid for prescription drugs, you can follow the steps below to submit a claim.

It is a good practice to keep a copy of the entire Claims documents with you before you submit the Claims for processing. 

  1. Download and complete the Claims Form/ Claimant Statement  You will have to submit the Claimant statement even if you have not paid upfront to the provider

2. Attach copies of all the pages of the passport

3. Attach the itemized bills

4. Submit the above within the stipulated time of 60 days after seeing the provider
