The company offers adequate coverage that you need while visiting the US for leisure, business, and entertainment purposes. Tourists, students, overseas relatives, seniors, and adventure seekers can buy these plans and protect themselves from unforeseen illness or injury. IMG is a wonderful choice for short-term medical insurance, and the plans can be renewed for up to 24 to 36 continuous months. However, to qualify, you must be at least 14 days old. 

Atlas America- FAQs

You are eligible for coverage if you are at least 14 days (about two weeks) old. You can choose between $50,000 to $2 million as your maximum limit if you are under 65. If you are 80 or older, you may get an overall maximum limit of up to $10,000. You can buy the plan from 5 days to 364  days (about 12 months). 

If you are a non-US citizen traveling outside your home country for 12 months or less, you can buy Atlas America. 

  • Inpatient and outpatient charges are made by the hospital. 
  • Physician, radiologist, surgeon, anesthesiologist, and other medical specialists’ charges. 
  • Charges for diagnostic testing using radiology, ultrasonographic or laboratory services. 
  • Charges for prescription drugs for a covered injury or illness; not the replacement of lost or expired drugs. 
  • Charges of emergency local ambulance. 
  • Charges of dental treatment or surgery to restore or replace sound teeth that are lost or broken in an accident.

Some travel assistance services that you can expect are medical referrals, assistance with prescription drug replacement, emergency travel arrangements, lost passport or travel documents assistance, embassy and consulate referrals, translation, and interpretation services, locate lost baggage, emergency travel and itinerary changes, etc. 

Pre-existing conditions, pregnancy, childbirth, infertility, congenital condition, mental health disorders, venereal diseases, dental or vision treatment, acts of terrorism and war, and more are excluded from the plan. To know in detail, check the brochure. 

Patriot America Plus- FAQs

While in the U.S, after the deductible is satisfied within the United Healthcare PPO network, the plan pays 100% of eligible medical expenses up to the policy maximum. Outside of the PPO network, the plan  pays 80% of the first $5,000 of eligible medical expenses then 100% thereafter. If you go to an Urgent Care, there is a copayment of $25 and no deductible. 

Medical treatment and services related to COVID-19 and emergency medical evacuation for COVID-19 treatment can be covered if the virus is contracted after the effective date of the policy. Also, testing can be covered if ordered by the attending physician for diagnostic purposes if symptoms occur after the policy effective date. COVID-19 vaccination/booster and quarantine benefit are not covered. 

You can sign-in to your account using the policy ID and date of birth  of the primary policyholder. Find the plan you want to cancel and click cancel. Fill out the required fields and complete cancellation or simply send an email Allow 7-10 business days for processing and refund. The premium amount will be refunded the same way it was paid. If payment was made using a credit card, the refund will go to the same card. 

If cancelled before the effective date, a $0 cancellation fee is applicable. You can get a full refund if the cancellation is done before the coverage begins, or done before the policy starts,  If cancelled after the effective date, a $50 cancellation fee is applicable. A prorated refund is possible for the remaining full months if no claims have been filed. 

To get reimbursed for covered medical expenses, you  must file a claim. Send the completed claims form, copies of your passport, medical bills, and receipts to the insurance company. The claims department will review the claim, which can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months. If your claim is approved, you will be reimbursed for the eligible amount but if it is denied, you will have the option to appeal.
