Choice of deductibles ranges from $0 to $500. 

Pre-existing: If you are enrolled in a primary insurance, pre-existing conditions are covered under this plan as any other condition, subject to the terms and exclusions listed in the policy. It includes both medical services and medical evacuation. 

PPO Hospital Network: Blue Cross Blue Shield Association provides hand-selected network of doctors and hospitals in 190 countries that agree to bill Blue Cross Blue Shield Global SolutionsSM directly. Members have the freedom to choose any international doctor or facility for service

How to Claim Single Trip Platinum Insurance?

  • Written notice of any event which may lead to claim under the Certificate must be submitted within 60 days. 
  • Fill claim forms with written proof of loss, which must be furnished within 90 days. 
  • Additional documentation is needed for specific coverages like baggage claims and post departure trip interruption claims. 
  • Benefits payable under the Certificate will be paid immediately upon receipt of satisfactory written proof of loss.

Plans are available to United States residents, age 95 and younger and enrolled in a Primary Plan. Children under age 6 must be enrolled with a parent. The initial purchase must be made in your home country prior to departing on your trip. 

Eligible family members (if applicable) can be your spouse, civil union partner, or domestic partner age 95 and younger, and/or your eligible child(ren) or other eligible dependent(s). Eligible family members must also be resident(s) of the United States and traveling outside the United States and scheduled to spend at least 24 hours away from his/her home. 

Yes, if you have primary insurance then, pre-existing conditions are covered like any other conditions. This includes both medical service and medical Evacuation.

Covers hazardous activities with maximum benefit up to $25,000 for claims resulting from downhill (alpine) skiing and scuba diving at a depth of 20 meters or less (certification by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or the National Association of Underwater Insurers (NAUI) required or diving under the supervision of a certified instructor) 

The application will need the name, date of birth, US as Home Country, and email address to send the insurance documents.  Applicants will also need to provide details of the Primary Plan they are enrolled in. 

Once the application is submitted, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the application which will include links to download the ID card and plan certificate. 

If the Covered Person has not cancelled their coverage, then coverage for a trip can extend past the Trip Coverage End Date if the Insured Person’s return is delayed by unforeseeable circumstances beyond their control. In this event, coverage will be extended, if:   

  1. The Covered Person’s entire original itinerary was covered under this Certificate;  
  2. The Covered Person requests an extension of coverage through the Insurer’s Administrator.

The extension of coverage will end on the earlier of:   

  1. The date the Covered Person reaches their Home Country.
  2. 7 days after the original coverage period requested and paid for by the Eligible Participant. There is no charge for the Extension of Coverage.

Any date prior to the Effective date of Coverage, applicant may request a full refund of premium. You can cancel your coverage and request a refund by: 

No refunds of premium shall be paid:  

  • after Your coverage Effective Date: or 
  • If You have departed on your Trip: or  
  • If any claims have been filed.

In these circumstances, the premium charged is fully earned and is non-refundable.
