Safe Travels Rental Plus is an insurance plan designed for US citizens and residents. The plan is specifically made for travelers booking vacation rentals, villas, and condos. It covers trip cancellation, trip interruption, trip delay, rental property damage, baggage and personal effects, medical expenses for unexpected incidents, medical evacuation and repatriation, accidental death and dismemberment for common carriers, and more. You can also opt for optional upgrades for trip cancellation for any reason and rental car damage.
Visitor Guard® offers Safe Travels Rental Plus plan to US citizens and residents to take a trip inside the US or internationally. The plan offers optional coverage for Trip Cancellation for Any Reason and Rental Car Damage. Safe Travels Rental Plus Benefits
- Plan Benefits:100% of trip cancellation coverage up to $10,000, 125% of trip interruption coverage up to $12,500, medical expense coverage for unexpected illness/injuries/accidents up to $40,000, medical evacuation and repatriation up to $250,000, $1000 for baggage and personal items coverage, and other optional coverage.
- Pre-existing condition: The pre-existing condition exclusion will be waived if the plan is purchased within 21 days (about 3 weeks) of the date the initial deposit for the trip is received. The insured member must be medically fit at the time the plan premium is paid.
- PPO Network: Safe Travels Rental plan is a US Fire Insurance plan and does not restrict you to go to any specific providers.
- Special Feature 1: Apart from trip cancellation, trip interruption, and trip delay, the plan covers rental property damage up to $1,500. Coverage is not available in MO, NY, WA, and MT.
- Special Feature 2: Dental expenses up to $750 included in the medical coverage.
- Special Feature 3: Optional coverages include Trip Cancellation for Any Reason (CFAR) up to 70% of the entire trip cost (not available in NY) and rental car damage up to $25,000. Upgrading to CFAR will allow you to cancel your trip for any reason. You must purchase within 21 days (about 3 weeks) of the date your payment/deposit is received. You must cancel your trip no later than 48 hours (about 2 days) before the scheduled departure date of your trip.
Safe Travels Rental Plus Cost
The cost of Safe Travels Flex plan depends on traveler’s age, trip duration, and the non-refundable trip cost insured. The higher the traveler’s age, and non-refundable trip cost , the higher will be the premium. When you choose optional coverage, you pay an extra premium.
Plan Limit: 100% of trip cost up to $10,000 for trip cancellation, and 125% of trip cost up to $12,500 for trip interruption.
Age: Members up to 99 years of age can buy this plan.
Coverage Days: Safe Travels Rental is available for trips starting up to 18 months (about 1 and a half years) from today and up to 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) in length.
Optional coverage benefits: Trip Cancellation for Any Reason up to 70% of the entire trip (not available in NY) and rental car damage up to $25,000.

- The first step involves finding the plan name, which can be found on the certificate emailed to you at the time of purchase.
- Gather necessary documents. Documentation will depend on the type of claim you are filing. For instance, trip cancellation or trip interruption claim documents include original trip itinerary and invoice, proof of trip payment, proof of cancellation date, amount refunded, etc.
- Complete the claim form with the concise summary of what happened, when it happened, how you were affected, and more.
