Safe Travels Armor is a comprehensive trip cancellation insurance plan designed for US residents and citizens traveling within the US and abroad. The plan includes up to $15,000 of trip cancellation and offers an Optional Cancel for Any Reason. It also covers trip interruption, trip delay, primary baggage loss/delay, primary emergency medical, emergency evacuation/repatriation, and more.
Visitor Guard® offers Safe Travels Armor to travelers who are looking forward to securing their trip’s cost during travel. The plan offers comprehensive trip-related benefits and limited medical benefits, making it a suitable policy for travelers taking an international trip from the US. Safe Travels Armor Benefits
- Plan Benefits: Coverage includes trip cancellation up to 100% of the insured trip cost, trip interruption of 150% of the insured trip cost, trip delay for delays up to 12 hours or more, missed connection for delays up to 12 hours or more, emergency medical expenses up to $100,000 with a $50 deductible, emergency evacuation up to $1,000,000, and more.
- Pre-existing: Includes benefits for Pre-existing Conditions when purchased within 14 days of the Initial Trip Deposit Date. Look Back Period is180 days.
- Special Feature 1: Missed Connection up to $500 for delays of 12 hours or more.
- Special Feature 2: Dental Expenses up to $750
- Special Feature 3: Optional upgrades include Rental Car Damage Coverage up to $50,000 (not available in all states) and Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR- not available in NY).
Safe Travels Armor Cost
The cost of the plan is influenced by several factors, including the traveler’s age, the duration of the trip, non-refundable trip cost and optional upgrades if any. Premiums tend to be higher for plans with higher trip cost or for older travelers. Adding optional coverage will also result in a higher premium.
Plan Limit: Trip cancellation up to 100% of the insured trip cost up to $15,000. Trip interruption up to 150% of the insured trip cost. Emergency medical expenses up to $100,000 with a $50 deductible. Emergency evacuation up to $1,000,000.
Age: The plan is available until the age of 85 years.
Coverage Days: The plan offers coverage for up to 90 days.
Optional Coverage Benefit Riders: Rental Car Damage Coverage up to $50,000 and Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) reimbursement for 75% of the prepaid, non-refundable, forfeited payments you paid for your trip if you cancel your trip for any reason that are not covered by this plan.
