Safe Travel Limited Benefits is a fixed benefit plan that provides accident and sickness medical coverage for persons below 90 years of age traveling to North America from other countries. The policy offers coverage for covered medical expenses including hospitalization, surgery, physician visits and prescriptions. The plan offers one acute onset of preexisting condition coverage and also covers one Well Visit per policy. The plan offers a range of deductible options and you can choose from $0 to $200.

The plan can be bought from 5 days to 1 year. It can be renewed before the end date of the policy and extended up to 2 years.

Safe Travel Limited Benefits Plan offers a range of coverage and has choices from $25,000 to $175,000 for the policy maximum and deductible choices ranging from $0 to $200. The plan covers one acute onset episode of pre-existing condition and one well doctor visit per person per policy period.


Range of Coverage

The policy provides insurance for medical accident and sickness, emergency medical, natural disaster and political evacuation, repatriation of remains, return of minor children, and accidental death & dismemberment. Based on the age, the plan offers coverage options from $50,000 to $175,000 and has choices of deductibles from $0 to $200.

Pre-existing Coverage

Covers one (1) Acute Onset episode of a Pre-Existing condition. Coverage limit varies as per the age of the insured.

Urgent Care

A maximum of 30 visits (1 a day) can be covered. Predefined limits on the amount of coverage per the chosen plan.

Repatriation

Repatriation of Mortal Remains ranging from $7,500 to $25,000 with $5,000 max for Cremation/Burial upon the death of the insured.

Renewable

If the plans is bought for a minimum of 5 days the plan can be renewed up to 24 months.

Safe Travel Limited Benefits Plan provides benefit maximums of US$25,000, US$50,000, US$75,000, US$100,000 or US$175,000 for the life of the plan.

US$0, US$100, or US$200 applied per period of coverage.

Outside the U.S. :
For the Certificate Period, Safe Travel Limited Benefits plan will pay 100% of the pre decided covered amount after the Deductible. The covered amount will vary depending on the medical service.

In USA:
For the Certificate Period, Safe Travel Limited Benefits plan will pay 100% of the pre decided covered amount after the Deductible. The covered amount will vary depending on the medical service.

Coverage options are $25,000. $50,000, $75,000, $100,000 and $175,000. You may initially enroll in Safe Travel Limited Benefits plan for as little as 5 days and up to maximum of 12 months.

Safe Travel Limited Benefits plan can be purchased for 5 days up to 12 months and can be renewed without a break in coverage up to a maximum total of 24 months.

Safe Travel Limited Benefits coverage is available to Non US citizens or Non US Residents who reside outside the US and are visiting the US. The plan is not available to US Citizens, US Residents or Green Card Holders in the US. The plan is available for individuals up to the age of 90 years. 

Pre-existing conditions are excluded by Safe Travel Limited Benefits Plan, however the plan can cover for one episode of an acute onset of pre-existing conditions

For ages up to and including 69 the limit is up to the Medical Policy Maximum purchased per Period of Coverage except for any coverage related to cardiac disease or conditions, which will be limited to $25,000 up to and including age 69 and $15,000 for ages 70 and above. Upon attaining ages 70-79 Acute Onset benefits will be reduced to a Maximum of $35,000, upon attaining age 80 Acute Onset benefits will be reduced to a Maximum of $15,000 with a $25,000 Maximum Lifetime Limit for Emergency Medical Evacuation. Provides coverage for an Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition. Any repeat/reoccurrence within the same policy period will no longer be considered Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition and will not be eligible for additional coverage. A Pre-Existing Condition which is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time and/or known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or treatments existing or necessary prior to the Effective Date are not considered to be an Acute Onset. This benefit covers only ONE (1) Acute Onset episode of a Pre-Existing condition. Sudden and Acute Onset of a Pre- Existing Condition Coverage expires upon medical advice that the condition and Onset is no longer acute or you are discharged from a medical facility.

Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition means a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre- Existing Condition which

1) occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent and immediate medical care; and

2) occurs a minimum of 48 hours after the Effective Date of the policy and

3) occurs prior to the age shown in the Schedule of Benefits/Limits with treatment being obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence. A PreExisting Condition that is a Congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered Acute Onset .

No, adventure sports are excluded from coverage.

The Safe Travel Limited Benefits policy follows a Preferred Provider Network both within and outside the United States. Utilizing these providers may result in payments directly to the provider as well as referrals to licensed medical providers.

The application will need the name, date of birth, visitor’s home country address and email address to send the insurance documents.  If you do have the passport number you can enter it. A valid credit card will be required to complete the purchase.

An email will be sent to the email address provided on the application which will include links to download the ID card, Visa Letter and Certificate wording. 

Coverage may be renewed if it is initially purchased for a minimum of 5 days. If available, additional periods are charged at the premium rate in force at the time of renewal. The total Policy Period cannot exceed 24 months. Five days premium is the minimum acceptable renewal premium and twelve months premium is the maximum. There are no grace periods for renewals. Once the policy has lapsed, you would need to reapply. Please note: once you reapply for a new policy, the Pre-Existing Condition exclusion, deductible and co-insurance start over.

  1. Cancellation and refund will only be considered if written request is received by Us prior to the Effective Date of Coverage as listed on the certificate. If written request is received after the Effective Date of coverage, the following conditions apply if the Insured Person wishes to cancel the insurance and a written partial refund request has been made:

    (a) If any claims have been filed with the Company, the Premium is fully earned and is non-refundable.

    (b) If no claims have been filed with the Company, then a cancellation fee of US $ 25 will be charged; and

    (c) If after a refund is made, if it is determined that a claim was presented to the company on an Insured Person’s behalf, the Insured Person will be fully responsible for that claim in its entirety

  • All claims must be submitted to GBG within 90 days of the date of service.
  • All claims MUST BE ON A FULLY COMPLETED claim form including medical history sections. A claim form must be completed and provided for each medical condition.

  • Claims may be mailed, faxed, or scanned and emailed. Contact details provided below.
  • A copy of your passport with entry/exit/visa stamps is required.
  • Detailed bills for services received and detailed receipts for payments made.
  • A signed authorization from the Insured is necessary to reimburse any person other than the Insured.
  • GBG will contact you via email if they need anything.

 It is a good practice to keep a copy of the entire Claims documents with you before you submit the Claims for processing.

To submit a claim, download the form. The completed claim form along with itemized bills that have the claimant’s name and nature of injury or illness should be sent to the address below. The form must be signed and dated, and submitted for consideration within 90 days of the date of service.
