  • Longer term travel insurance plans

    Hi there,

I am leaving on a trip at the end of the month to South Africa for 6 months, and then Ethiopia for 10. Is it possible for me to purchase a plan to cover both trips, that I won't have to renew? All of the prompts on the website only ask for one country, and must be less than a year.

    Thanks!

    Hello

    Thank you for your email.

You can consider the Patriot Travel policy. At any given point the policy can be bought for up to 12 months after which it can be renewed further. Renewal option is provided typically 60 days before the expiration. However, as an exception the Underwriters have agreed on letting you renew the policy right after you buy the policy for 12 months.

You can apply for the Patriot policy at http://www.visitorguard.com/apply/pa...exchange-plan/

You can review the brochure at http://www.visitorguard.com/docs/patriot-exchange-plan/

Once you purchase the policy for 12 months, please email your certificate number and we will provide you with a link for further renewing the policy for 4 months making it a total coverage of 16 months. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

You have been very accommodating and helpful. I am looking at purchasing the patriot plan you recommended with a $100K maximum and $250 deductible. I just wanted to ask you before I buy: under the exemptions part of the plan brochure it stipulates wildlife safari will not be covered--I am going to be preforming scientific research involving being in close proximity to baboons (and whatever else happens to be around) and am wondering if this counts as wildlife safariing. Any insight you can provide into this would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks!

        Greetings,

Thank you for your email. The underwriters have suggested you purchase the Adventure Sports rider which does add coverage for wildlife safaris.
